Our 12 oz Story Candle is meant to provide comfort through its lavender scent, and a quick respite from reality through fine art and storytelling. Daniel Angeles first created the images, followed by the narrative (sometimes years later) and is now exhibiting these little story worlds as individual votives. 
 
The candle is meant to be experienced in layers. First through the artwork itself, followed by the imaginative story, concluded with a soothing lavender scent.
 
Each of the images began as an original Daniel Angeles watercolor, only to later be used as inspiration for the story narrative included on the back of the candle.
 
Every Refillable Comfort Story Candle includes a small wax heart that carries a deeper meaning. The heart begins as something visible, resting on top of the candle much like the people we love are present in our lives. As the candle burns, the heart slowly melts and becomes part of the wax below. Though it is no longer visible, it has not disappeared. Instead, it has become part of the whole. The heart is a gentle metaphor for love, loss, and memory: even when someone is no longer physically with us, their spirit, love, and the memories we shared continue to live within us.
 
Once your candle has burned down, the story jar can be refilled with scented wax and enjoyed again!
